all you need for relocation to scotland: edinburgh

Activities & Leisure

Having more than 7 days in a week should be compulsory if you’re visiting Scotland and Edinburgh! Whether you’re single, a couple or a family, young, not so young or... not young anymore, the capital city of Scotland offers a very wide range of leisure and sporting activities for everyone.

What I wanted to avoid, on purpose, was to fall into the usual trap of simply listing every cinema, restaurant, place to visit, leisure and activities centre (although there has to be a bit of that) and tell you instead about Edinburgh’s many hidden gems which don’t usually appear in tourist guides: long established small family-run restaurants, working farms where you can pick up your own fruits (great if you have children), “hidden” walks and waterfalls right in the heart of the city, family friendly coffee places where you can spend a whole afternoon, indoor climbing centre in converted churches, trendy clubs and bars, etc.

But what makes Edinburgh so special is that it is siting between the sea and hills; in just one day you can walk from the city centre to the sea shore going North then walk back in town to climb hills going South. Oh, and there’s also a 1,000 years old castle hung on the top of an extinct volcano. And that just for the city centre!

If you fancy seeing stunning landscapes without having to drive across Scotland then no problems, you’ll find them only 15 min drive outside Edinburgh.

I almost forgot all the other fun activities you can do in and around the city: enjoying great sports and leisure centres...and fishing...and mountain biking...and skiing...and sailing...and hillwalking….

Just come and see for yourself!
