Edinburgh Boat Charters
Edinburgh Boat Charters is a small company owned and skipped by Colin Henderson, a passionate and very experienced sailor who is local to the area. Colin’s yacht, Inspired Capital, is a modern and high specification luxury sailing vessel. The living and entertaining space of this 12 metres long yacht has been maximised in the cabins and saloon. The deck saloon windows are over 2 metres in length, providing light and space to those below. To put it simply, we loved it!

If you visit Edinburgh on holiday don’t miss the chance to see the city’s skyline and landmarks from a unique perspective. Arthur’s Seat and the castle will look even more grandiose, as for the Forth rail bridge, sailing right under it is breathtaking.
When you cruise Edinburgh, the sailing area is full of surprises. The immense Forth Road and Rail bridges loom overhead. The Firth is important for nature conservation, including the Islands of the Firth of Forth, from Inchcolm, a fortified island housing a 12th century Augustinian abbey, to Inchkeith, which has had a colourful history and is home to a lighthouse. Inchmickery is also fortified, has been used as a film location and is now an RSPB reserve.
Further out in the estuary are more islands comprising this group, which is a Special Protection Area, host to over 90,000 breeding seabirds every year. Sightings of seals and porpoises in the area adds to the excitement.
Colin knows when some of the world’s largest cruise ships are visiting Edinburgh and as part of the fun and the excitement is always keen to try to sail around them all on full or half day cruises.
Your heart will be beating a little bit faster (ours certainly did!) when you see a large ship or tanker up close!

What can I expect?
Colin is always happy to encourage guests to learn the ropes (if you want to) and will guide you to do a perfect “tack”, take the helm and manoeuvre the jib, providing you with a sense of personal achievement.
If you are a complete novice you will keep a fantastic feeling of sailing (very safely) on a luxury yacht and perhaps being the skipper for a while; if you are an experienced sailor you will love the maneuverability of the boat.
No matter what, you can expect to have a fab day, learn about the local history, see seals up close and actually have a feel good experience.
