Edinburgh Leisure Centre
Although Edinburgh Leisure centre is one of the “usual suspects”, it is also an obvious choice.
It is a not-for-profit company set up by Edinburgh Council in 1998 to run their sport and leisure services. The programme of activities that Edinburgh Leisure covers is wide ranging and for people of all ages and abilities.
No need to be a member unless you want to and it will be very difficult indeed to find a better value for money across the whole city and beyond.
Edinburgh Leisure boasts 5 leisure centres, 6 golf courses, 31 pitch venues covering football, rugby, hockey, baseball, cricket, several swim, tennis and sports centres.
They run enough classes (gym, fitness, badminton, table tennis, etc), provide expert sports coaching and offer enough sports to cover virtually every activity you can dream of, for you & family. All this across one city and at a very affordable price!
Edinburgh Leisure centre also has the world’s largest climbing arena. The Edinburgh International Climbing Arena is located at Ratho a few miles after the airport (westbound). With walls from 12m to 35m high and routes from the simple to the technically complex there is something for all levels and abilities. There are classes for children and adults.
